Announcement from ICVA Interim Chair – Natasha Plummer
“I am delighted to announce that Sherry Ralph, who has been our Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) since November last year, has been appointed by the Board on a permanent basis to the role of CEO.
Sherry has been with the ICVA for six and a half years and is an experienced and highly capable officer and has previously been through an intensive recruitment process that included psychometric tests, a presentation, a written exercise and two interviews.
Many of you will know Sherry and the passion and commitment she brings to this work from her time at ICVA. Sherry also has a wealth of previous experience in the wider field of Criminal Justice having led large scale projects for victims, prison leavers and young people engaged with the CJS. She was delighted to attain a Master’s Degree in Human Rights Law whilst with ICVA in 2020.
The ICVA exists to lead, support and represent independent custody visiting schemes across the UK working to protect the rights and entitlements of detainees, and we will continue to do so under the leadership of Sherry Ralph who will be taking up the position of substantive CEO with immediate effect.”
