Police and Crime Commissioners bring local accountability and governance for policing in England and Wales.  Amongst their responsibilities, PCCs have a statutory duty to provide an independent custody visiting scheme.  ICVA has developed a briefing for candidates to explain the role of local volunteers, independent custody visitors, and schemes as well as the specific responsibilities for PCCs, as agreed by Parliament.

We hope that candidates will find this briefing informative.  Please follow us on Twiiter @CustodyVisiting for regular updates and information. Click here to download
