    It is with regret that we inform you that our CEO, Ian Smith OBE will retire from ICVA in 2015. Ian has been with ICVA since its conception, over 25 years and his expertise and direction will be sorely missed. A final date for Ian’s leaving has yet to be decided and will be agreed with the Management Board at its meeting next year.

    Nick Hardwick, Chief Inspector of Prisons, has warned of a significant decline in safety in adult male prisons, publishing his annual report. Safety outcomes for prisoners were worst in adult male local prisons and not good enough in a third of all the prisons inspected in 2013-14.
